Ingredients

Scale

    • 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • ½ pound ground beef

    • ½ pound Italian sausage (casings removed)

    • 1 small onion, finely chopped

    • ½ green bell pepper, diced

    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

    • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

    • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

    • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

    • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

    • Salt and pepper, to taste

    • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

    • Marinara sauce

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Toss in the chopped onion and bell pepper, and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until they’re soft and fragrant

    1. Add ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.

    1. Stir in garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Let mixture cool slightly.

    1. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle (about 10×14 inches).

    1. Sprinkle mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan over the center, leaving a 1-inch border.

    1. Spread the meat mixture evenly across the cheese, making sure it covers the surface completely.

    1. Starting from the long edge, gently roll the dough into a log. Press the seam firmly to seal, then fold in the ends to create a clean, finished look.

    1. Transfer to the baking sheet seam-side down. Brush with beaten egg for a glossy finish.

    1. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust turns golden and the filling is bubbling nicely

    1. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

    • Cheese Choices: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like provolone or gouda for a unique flavor.

    • Heat things up or keep it mild—just tweak the red pepper flakes to match your spice preference.

    • Make Ahead: Prepare the bread ahead of time and refrigerate before baking. Just bring it to room temperature before baking.
