Ingredients
Scale
-
- 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
-
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
-
- ½ pound ground beef
-
- ½ pound Italian sausage (casings removed)
-
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
-
- ½ green bell pepper, diced
-
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
-
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
-
- Salt and pepper, to taste
-
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
-
- Marinara sauce
Instructions
-
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Toss in the chopped onion and bell pepper, and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until they’re soft and fragrant
-
- Add ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
-
- Stir in garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Let mixture cool slightly.
-
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle (about 10×14 inches).
-
- Sprinkle mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan over the center, leaving a 1-inch border.
-
- Spread the meat mixture evenly across the cheese, making sure it covers the surface completely.
-
- Starting from the long edge, gently roll the dough into a log. Press the seam firmly to seal, then fold in the ends to create a clean, finished look.
-
- Transfer to the baking sheet seam-side down. Brush with beaten egg for a glossy finish.
-
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust turns golden and the filling is bubbling nicely
-
- Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce.
Notes
-
- Cheese Choices: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like provolone or gouda for a unique flavor.
-
- Heat things up or keep it mild—just tweak the red pepper flakes to match your spice preference.
-
- Make Ahead: Prepare the bread ahead of time and refrigerate before baking. Just bring it to room temperature before baking.
